    Hello all,

I know I haven't written in a long time. It is hard to write when you want to spend every second with your child when you get home from work! We have had a lot of family in the last two weekends and are having more family next weekend and week. It has been fun...Ethan loves seeing and playing with his family. Ethan is really excited for his Nana Mel to come this weekend. He is also excited to see his Grandma and Grandpa Fiscus this next week too for Thanksgiving. Mommy and Gma are going to cook up some great food that Ethan can't have!

Last weekend Ethan's Grandpa Gaumer and Nana Sue came to visit his along with his Uncle Jacob. Ethan had a lot of fun. He is at a great age now for family to see him, so it is fun to watch him interact with everyone. He smiles and talks all the time now. He also laughs at random times. Greg wanted to go to the King Tut exhibit, so we did that on Friday. Then we hung out on Sat. and watched Greg play his last football game at the Seminary. It was a gorgeous day to watch Greg lose his game! Then we just went down to the Stock Yards to eat dinner and watch Jacob TRY to ride a mechanical bull...haha, So funny!! (Sorry Jacob) Grandpa Gaumer stayed up here for work, so we got to see him again on Tues. when he came to hang out for a little bit.

The weekend before last, Ethan's Aunt Brandi and Uncle Bryan came for a couple of days. They came Sunday thru Tuesday so I didn't get to hang out with them much because I had to go to school. Ethan on the other hand was able to hang out with them a lot. Aunt Brandi kept watch over him during the day instead of him giong to daycare. I think they had a lot of fun hanging out with Ethan. We all got to go out to dinner at Macaroni Grill one night and that was a lot of fun. It was more of a lazy weekend of just relaxing and playing with Ethan.

Ethan has been rolling over lately almost all the way to his tummy. He gets stuck on his left arm though. This morning, Greg found him laying all the way over on his tummy...yeah! He has also started liking tummy time a lot more now. Well, he likes it for about 5 minutes and then he is done. I tried getting some pics of him on his tummy...they are pretty cute! We were over at a friends house last night and they let us borrow their excersaucer since their son just grew out of it. Ethan really likes it and can play in it for an hour. He is chewing anything he can get his hands on right now. He slobers all over the place. His bibs are soaking wet after like 30 minutes of playing.

Greg and I's favorite thing that Ethan does right now is when he reaches out and grabs anything we put in front of him. He loves grabbing his bottles now and putting his bottles in his mouth. He can't figure out how to tip the bottle so he can actually get milk out, he just sucks on the nipple. He reaches out for any toy we put in front of him and he then grabs it with both hands and immediately puts whatever it is in his mouth and chews on it.

He is doing a lot better with his cereal now. We put him in our friend's high chair and tilted it backwards and he sat there and ate a whole ounce of cereal. He never complained and even opened his mouth when I would put the spoon in front of him. I think he is going to be a big eater.

Since vball is over, I get to spend a lot of time hanging out with Ethan now. My most favorite part is that I get to take him and pick him up from daycare every day. Most of the time Greg and I both drop him off and pick him up together which is fun for Ethan to see both of us there to get him. He looks at us and smiles. Sometimes he is having too much fun and doesn't even acknowledge that we are in the room.

I know Christmas is around the corner and family already wants to know what Ethan or Greg and I want. Greg and I don't want anything really. If you want to get us anything, you can give us money for formula nd diapers or buy us formula and diapers. That would help us out greatly in the next few months. We don't need anything or really want anything except for formula and diapers for Ethan.

Ethan doesn't need a whole lot of toys either. He has a few here that he likes to play with, but don't go wild on the toy shopping. I would ask that you buy him books. I have forgotten all the favorite books that I read when I was a kid...so we would like our families to buy Ethan books that we use to love to read and others maybe you have heard of. We would really like to get all the Dr. Seuss books, Bearnstein Bears books (sp?), Thomas the Train books, golden books, book sets that we use to read when we were younger. Ethan really doesn't have any books right now and we would love to fill his book shelf with some great books. Also, he has a lot of clothes still for 6-9 months and some 12 month clothes already from the showers...and I just bought him a lot of 6 month clothing. So, he has a lot of clothes already, but if you are wanting to buy him clothes I would probably buy him 9-12 or even older clothes. I wouldn't buy him any 6 month clothing. Remember, that 9-12 month clothing for Ethan is Spring and Summe clothes (no winter stuff). I figured that this would be a good heads up for family since some have probably already started shopping for Christmas.

Well, Ethan is still doing great and loves when family can come see him. If you would ever like to come visit, we always have room in our little house. If we can sleep 8 people in this place, then we have plenty of room for 2 or 4 people!!

    Bye for now!

Ethan had his 4 month appointment on Wednesday. It went well...atleast I heard it went well. I had to work again, so Greg took him. The doctor said he is looking great. He weighed a wooping 14 lbs. 8 oz, was 26 1/4 inches tall and his head was 42 1/2 cm. He was 50th percentile in weight and head. He was 90th percentile in his height. He got his shots. Greg said he cried and then he put his pacifier in and he knocked out. The doctor said that we can start feeding him cereal now...yeah! He can start getting REAL food. I hope he can actually keep it in his mouth! Ethan is doing great. He is smiling constantly and talking all the time. Since he turned 4 months, he got to go now in the excersaucer (sp?) at Daycare. We got to see him in it today when we picked him up. He was just standing there smiling at us when he saw us. It was sooo cute! We now put him in his walker at home and he has fun tapping his feet on the ground and using the plastic part of the walker as a chew toy for his gums.

I think Ethan has started teething too. He is constantly chewing on his fist and sometimes chews on 1 finger. He hasn't figured out his thumb yet...but hopefully he will soon. We give him teething toys everyday now, and he enjoys slobbering all over those toys and chewing on them. I have a tournament tommorrow so I gotta go to bed. It is way too late!

I want to give a "shout out" to Jamie. Sorry I didn't call you today or for the last 3 months. I got your message today and will be calling you soon! Love all the new pics of the girls. Love the ones where your on the ground and it is just all of your faces! Talk to ya soon!

    FORGOT ONE THING!

People (you all) might think that Ethan has no clothes or that we neglect him by not putting clothes on him. I just wanted to clarify that our son likes to be in the "NUDE!" He gets hot very easily and we do live in Texas where it is still pretty hot. I noticed that all the videos we just recently put on the webpage have Ethan just in his diaper...so I wanted to clarify that...haha! We do put clothes on our son when we go places...but at home he likes just being in his diaper!!!

    Comments:
Dad:  Great pics of Ethan and the pumpkin carving. It's amazing that Ethan can stand/kneel by himself already. ha ha It seems like he was just born.

I want to buy pics from the site but who prints them, do they ship them to your home and what's the S/H costs?

    Hi to ALL,

I am really good about writing once a month...haha! Sorry again for not writing sooner. Been crazy with vball and trying to take care and hang out with my son at home. Ethan is great...he is being a little more fussy lately. We think it was because he was constipated...which we have fixed I think now. I think we were stuffing the formula scoop with a lot of formula instead of getting a light scoop (if that makes any sence)? So we have decreased the amount of formula but kept the same amount of water in the bottle and he is now pooping smoothly...haha! He was waking up in the middle of the night screaming bloody murder just trying to poop...then it would be as hard as a brick (not a good sign). So, I think we have fixed that problem!!! On to something more exciting...

Ethan is developing GREAT! He is rolling over to his side now to play on his play mat with the scary singing cat. He also rolls on his side at night to sleep...it is sooo cute. He puts his hands together over his face and falls asleep. Greg and I thought we would measure him yesterday, so we did and he was like 25 inches??? They measured him at his 2 month and said he was 25 3/4 inches??? Kind of confused. Anyway, he is very long and still skinny as can be. His thighs are getting a little more meat on them though. He has such strong leg muscles already.

Ethan is done with sitting now. He loves to stand up and shake his hips around. When we try and sit him down he staightens his whole body so he can't bend at the waist. Greg stood him up next to the couch and he held on to the couch by himself for about 5 seconds and then Greg caught him when he decided to fall. He is also starting to grab things more. He now grabs his toys on his play mat instead of hitting them with a fist. He grabs everything and then puts everything he grabs in his mouth. He realizes now that everything can go in his mouth. Today, I had him in his bumbo chair and had the tray on it with some links (rings) on it. He grabbed them himself off the tray and started sucking on them. He has also started liking tummy time a little more now if there is a mirror for him to look at himself while he is on his tummy!

Ethan is also tracking things very well with his eyes. He will follow Greg and I everywhere if he can see us in a room. I circle a toy around him and he looks around in a circle at the toy. I read him a few books tonight and he was looking at all the pages and all the pretty colors on the pages. He even helped me turn a few pages! It is so fun to see him actually looking at me and other things now.

He is also smiling all the time and has started to laugh back at you. I have laughing contests with him. I will laugh and he will imitate me and it goes back and forth for a couple of minutes. He also knows his name now. I say Ethan and he turns and looks at me...sooo cute! He loves our friend Stiko. Stiko moves him around and he just laughs at Stiko. Stiko also talks to him and Ethan talks back.

Well, I finally bought picture frames for our house to put up Ethan's infant pics and our preggy photos...haha! Better late than never! I think the pictures are going to look great on the wall. If you are coming up to visit soon, you will get to see them hopefully up on our walls (Greg's got to put them up on the walls now!)

Sorry for the looong blog. I'll write again in a month...haha!

It has been a long time since I have written. We are still trying to come up with a cute 3 month picture. We haven't made up our minds yet on what we are going to do. Knowing us...you know it will be quite funny! Ethan is sound asleep sleeping on his boppy pillow right now. The BOY loves to sleep. He has been sleeping A LOT lately, so we think he might be growing. He will sleep all night when I get home from practice and then sleep all the way through the night. He has recently gotten a little cold that I think he is finally getting rid of. Most babies are pretty cranky when they have colds, but Ethan was still playing on his mat sniffling. He HATES the sucking bulb thingy that I stick in his nose to get all the snot out though. I think it is kind of fun, but he screams bloody murder. But once all his snot is out, he thanks me!!

He is playing so much more on his mat now. He is actually grabbing the scary ugly cat and now pulls on it until it plays the music. Once the music goes off he pulls on it some more to start the music again. He is very smart. He also grabs the blue rattle too and holds on to it and swings his arm back and forth. He is still kicking his feet like crazy against the plastic toy too.

He is pretty much eating 5 ounces now. Some times he still eats 4 ounces. He falls asleep every time he feeds which is quite funny and annoying since he hasn't finished his bottle. He is talking and smiling like crazy now. It is so much fun to watch him in the morning because that is when he is in the best mood. He still is doing great at school. His teachers are still complimenting him on how good and calm he is. He still gets "happy" as his mood every day. Greg said that there is always babies crying when he goes to pick him up and Ethan is just chillin in the bouncy chair.

I miss Ethan a lot. I have 6 more weeks of Vball left and then I get to go home at 4 every day. Then I will be able to actually drop him off and pick him up from Daycare every day. I will get to spend more time with him!! Greg started subbing at my school this week. He was a hall moniter. He will be subbing M,W and F. We'll see if he likes it!

My Volleyball girls are doing awesome! Both my B and A Team are 2-0 in Districts. We have some harder teams coming our way but they are playing really well and having fun which is the most important thing. My B Team just got 3rd place at our tourney this weekend and my A Team has a home tourney this weekend. Our goal is to make it in the Gold bracket. It is always a tough tournament. They are working hard in practice though.

    Write more later!

Dad:  Greg & Chenille......The last two video's you sent out with Ethan were precious. I really enjoyed them a lot since I can't see Ethan as much as I want. Thanks Greg for turning the camera so we didn't have to turn our heads sideways to watch the video. I've got to go get a neck massage now to get the kink out of my neck. :)smile.....Keep the pics and video's coming.
    Love, Dad
Jamie:  Glad Ethan is doing so well. He does seem like a great, happy baby. That is so good. That's awesome that he's playing so well on his playmat. Natalie likes hers, too...and now that she's on meds for the reflux she plays longer and is happier more often. YAY. Talk to you soon!
Auntie Brandi:  Wow! You are really busy. Glad you found a few minutes to update us! 39 days and counting until we are at your house!!!!! I can't wait!!!!! Hope Brother likes being a hall monitor ;) that cracked me up when I read that! Chat soon!

    Hi Everybody,

It was a looong week at school, but thankfully it's the weekend so I can relax, catch up on sleep and get some energy back. I did not see Ethan much this week, because I had vball stuff at school that needed to get done, and I had my 1st vball game this past Thursday that was almost 2 hours away. I got home in time to feed him and put him to bed. So today we are hanging out together all day long.

    Ethan's 2 month check-up

Ethan went to his 2 month check-up on Wednesday. He had a great check-up and did pretty well while getting his shots. He got 5 shots...1 in the arm and 2 in each thigh. Greg said he did good with the shot in his arm, but them screamed like he had never heard him scream before with the shots in the thighs. He said he got teary-eyed...and I would have cried. I couldn't make the appointment because I had to be at school=(. After Ethan's shots he slept for most of the day. Then the following day, he started having lots of liquid bowel movements and is still having them (hopefully it is from the shots). He is also smiling all the time now. I can never get it on camera though. If you come over and play with him, then you can see him smiling.

At his appointment, he weighed 12 lbs. 8 ounces which landed him in the 50th precentile. His length was 25 3/4 inches long which landed him in the 97th precentile. If you couldn't tell, he is very long for his age! The doctor said he is doing great and he was impressed that Ethan could hold his head up by himself so well when Greg was holding him.

Grandpa Bayless came through to see us this past weekend, because he was refing a vball tournament in Houston. My cousin Katie and her husband Ted just moved here from Alaska, so we have gotten to hang out with them some. We went out to their new apartment, with my dad, and hung out with them Sunday night. They have a cute little son named Thomas. It was a fun night. My dad stayed the night 1 night and then went home to Missouri on Memorial Day.

On Memorial day, we had some friends over and invited all of our neighbors over for a cookout. We had a whole bunch of new couples that just moved in to our little complex area, and we wanted to get to know them. Suprisingly, almost everyone came to the cookout. It was so much fun. We popped up the canopies outside and had lots of great barbeque, sides and desserts! We were able to meet most of our neighbors and they are all really cool.

    Ethan's 2 MONTH Pictures

So, I had some different ideas for Ethan's 2 month pictures. We tried to work with things we already had. We finally realized that all the clothes and props on my build-a-bear fit Ethan. So we took a summer/beach approach for his 2 month pictures. The bear boxers, cargo pants, hawaiian shirt, sunglasses, visor and the chair Ethan is sitting in is all from my build-a-bear. It is quite funny I think that it all fit him. Then we found some props we had to go with Ethan and his outfit! I thought they turned out pretty cute myself! Ethan is changing quickly in the face. He is looking so much older these days. He has such great little man features I think. He is still a really relaxed baby. Anybody can hold him...which is great! He lays in his bed a lot and just chills or plays by himself without crying. He is now sleeping longer through the night. Two nights ago he slept from 9:30 till 6:30...9 hours. He is off and on some night anywhere from 6 hours to more. It is very nice for Greg and I due to that we both are trying to get sleep for work the next day.

We are having a lot of fun just sitting and watching Ethan and playing with him while he smiles at us. We love him sooo much!!

I'll write more later. Bye for now!!

First day to be sick at Daycare!!

Last night Greg felt really sick and decided that he was going to throw up all night. Well, when Ethan woke up I went in to get him and I saw that he was on his back. I picked him up out of his bed and there was a huge spot on his sheets. I figured that he just spit up. He was in such a great mood this morning. He was smiling really big and talking to me. Anyways, Greg stayed home sick and I went to work. Ethan was fine when I left the daycare.

I get a phone call around 11:15 from the daycare telling me that Ethan had thrown up. They said it was just a little bit but he had to go home. So I left on my lunch break, went and got Ethan and took him to the house where my sick husband was. Then I left the sick ones at home and went back to work. As long as he doesn't throw up again and doesn't have a temperature over like 100 or something, than he can go back in the morning. Greg on the other hand is laying in on our bed because he is still sick and thinks now he might have a fever. I think it is a bug that is going around. Some parents at the daycare also have it. I am glad I haven't gotten it yet, because I start school tomorrow and tryouts on Wednesday.

Ethan had a great week last week at Daycare. He is enjoying his time there away from his
parents =(. He is loving his floor mat. He plays on it every night. Today he started reaching and grabbing the toys that are hanging from it. I tried to get it on camera but he took his hand off before I could film him. I did film him on his mat though, so check it out in the video spot. I hope people are enjoying this website...nobody ever comments =(. People tell me that they are looking at it, so that makes me feel better!

    Bye for Now!

    Comments:
Nanna Mel:  I am praying for you! You are doing a wonderful job as new parents. Please take care of yourselves! I know God is looking out for my sweeties..( : Love, Mom

    Dad:  Greg & Chenille

Keep the blogs, pictures and video's coming. I enjoy them all. Can't wait to see you guys again on my trip to Texas this week.
    Love, Dad Bob
Jamie:  Sorry the men are sick. I hope they get better soon! Lovin' the video. Ethan, you are so incredibly cute. Can't wait to meet you one day. Love you guys and are praying for you.

    Hi Everybody!

I am really upset right now because I just wrote a loooong journal entry and somehow hit the yahoo button and erased everything I had just written for you guys. Now I get to try and write it again...it is not as good the second time!

Greg and I both went back to work today...so Ethan had to go to daycare. We are taking him to the daycare on Seminary campus. It is a great daycare. They had a sign on the door saying "Welcome Ethan". His teachers are very nice. His lead teacher is actually from Springfield, but we do not know her. I did pretty good dropping him off today. I know it will be harder and harder the older he gets.

Ethan has his own crib at the daycare. They also have us bring in 2 pics of Ethan and 1 pic of us to make a little scrapbook page to put over his crib. When I went to pick him up he was chillin in a bouncer fast asleep. They have like 4 bouncers and 6-9 floor mats to play on in his room. When we go to pick him up, we have to grab his sheet that tells us when he fed, wet/dirty diapers and when he napped that day. His mood on the sheet for today said "Happy!" The teachers said he was a really good baby. That is good to hear! We hope he stays that way. He did a great job and loved his new classroom.

    At Home

Ethan is moving a lot more now. He loves his new play mat that we bought him last week. He constantly kicks his feet and moves his arms while he is laying underneath it. We give him some tummy time everyday, and he really likes that till his face gets smashed to the ground. Then he gets a little fussy. He is so much fun to watch. Greg and I just lay next to him and just stare at him and play with him. He also has started to plump up a little bit. He is starting to fill out his legs, arms, belly and cheeks. He is going to be a strong little boy.

Please pray for Ethan and his new adventure at daycare. Pray that the teachers will monitor him at all times, protect him and take care of him. Pray also for me that I make this transition smoothly. I know I will be sad, but hopefully this is just a short term event.

Oh...Ethan has started to coo (thanks sue for the correct spelling). Anyways, Ethan has stated talking back to us in sound...haha! It is so cute. He also punches us with his out of control arms and has figured out he has a tongue, but doesn't know what to do with it except for sticking it out all the time. We love Ethan so much and can't get enough of him ever. I could stay at home and hang out with him all day and not do anything else or even go anywhere else. Greg and I have so much fun with each other too while we are hanging out with our SON!

    Bye for now!

    Comments:
Aunt Kae:  It is good to hear about your adventures. Things sound like they are progressing in a normal pattern and yes, it is difficult to send the kids to daycare. The prayers help, though! Let us know how things go when Thomas arrives next week! :)

    Ethan Update!

I have started 2-a-days for Volleyball at our high school, so I will be a little slower at updating and putting pictures on the website. I will do my best to keep it up to date. I don't have a life when Volleyball season starts! Our girls at the high school are looking really good this year. They are young but have heart, hustle, and really good for their age. I have been in charge of working with the setters...and they are doing really well!

We just got back Sunday night from our trip to Missouri. Our trip was a little insane, but we had a great time seeing some of our family. We did stay at a different house every night Tuesday thru Sunday. That's how you have to do it to see everyone. We have fun with it...it is just a lot more stuff to move from place to place with all of Ethan's stuff now! Some family that weren't able to come down here that we saw were my Grandma and Grandpa Phillips, Greg's Grandma and Grandpa Smith, Greg's great Uncle Phil and Aunt Dorothy, Greg's sister Nikki and our nephew Riley, Grandpa Fiscus, Greg's brother Jacob, my brother Branden, my cousins Michael (wife Farland and daughter Jordan), Logan, MaryAnn, Roger, Ben and Christopher, our friend Doug Blanton, Greg's best friend Jason Brushwood and his wife Jennifer and two kids Lily and Elijah (they are both so cute!), our friends Dan and Carolyn Hutchinson and lots more friends from our church back home! We saw a lot of people so it was a really fun visit. I will put up pictures from the trip soon. I need to go to bed soon.

Ethan is doing great. He is becoming more fuzzy more frequently. We think he is hungry quicker so we are trying to figure out if that is the case and we need to feed him more or more often. He has started sticking out his tongue. It is really cute! He also holds his head up higher and longer when we have him up on our shoulder. He looks at us all the time and follows us with his eyes when we move around. He is kicks all the time so he is going to have some strong legs when he gets older. Maybe that will help him walk quicker! He is fattening up some more which is good. I weighed him on Greg's grandparents scale and he weighed 10 lbs. He is still sleeping 3 to 4 hours before waking up to feed which is really good. Greg gets up for one feeding and I get up for the 2nd feeding. Well, that's all for now. I need to go to bed! I will write more later when I can think of more stuff Ethan is doing right now!

    Comments:
Katie Paskvan:  Chenille & Greg - Ted, Thomas, and I are moving to Fort Worth. I don't know if you've heard yet or not. We're very excited and Ethan and Thomas will get to have time together. We just purchased our plane tickets. We'll be there August 23rd. Looking forward to seeing you!

    Hello Everyone,

We haven't had an update lately so I thought I would write one. Ethan is doing very well. We are still breast feeding and formula feeding him. He does well with both and seems to be gaining good weight. I might try to go into the pediatrics office this week to see if I they can weight him to see how much he has gained. The next appointment he has is at 2 months, so I would like to see how much he weighs now.

My cousins Josh, Jori and their kids Madeline, Molly and Caleb and my other cousin Ashton came to visit us this past week. We had so much fun hanging out with them. They were on vacation in Texas and came through to see u son their way home. They stayed one night with us and almost stayed another night but had to get back to help a lady with some stuff at her house. They ended up staying with us at our duplex, because the hotel on campus was booked for a conference. It was so much fun having them stay with us rather then in a hotel. We had the kids in one room (all 3 plus Ashton) and then Jori slept on the couch and Josh on the cot we borrowed from a friend. Ethan slept with us in our room. It didn't seem crowded at all, it was actually really fun!

We just hung out at the house the first night and then we went to eat at Red Robin (they had never been there!) Then we went back to our house and blew up the pool to let the kids swim. The next day the girls went shopping for some stuff at Target and Jori and I ended up buying clothes that we found!!! Then Josh and Jori paid for all of us to go to the zoo and we had a lot of fun looking at the animals. We only had an hour and twenty minutes before it closed (the girls spent too much time shopping) so we had to fast track it through the zoo to see most of the animals. We did a pretty good job of seeing a majority of the animals. Ethan did fairly well being that is was over 100 degrees...but most of the zoo was shaded and it felt really nice. It was my first time going to the zoo, and I would love to go back when it is cooler and I can take my time taking pictures of all the animals. My cousins then came back to our house, cooled off a bit and then headed back to Missouri. We had a lot of fun with them and hope they come down again to see us!

Ethan is growing. He is lifting his head up very frequently now and is holding it up for awhile. He has also become more alert lately. He still sleeps all day long, but he has more time now where he keeps his eyes wide open when he is awake. He is so cute when his eyes are wide open and he just stares at you. It is fun now when he looks at us and if we move he moves his head to see where we went. Jori told us that he can see 2 feet in front of him now which is fun to think about, because he can see our faces if we are close enough.

He is still sleeping 3 to 4 hours at night which is great. Maybe soon he will sleep 6 hours. He still has to have his hands up by his face at all times, especially when he is sleeping. We realized that a lot of the times we thought he was sweating through his clothes...he was actually peeing up his diaper and drenching his clothes! So...lets just say that Ethan hasn't sweat through his clothes or in the bed lately because we have tightened his diapers!!

He still hates baths. He screams blood murder when we bath him. He does enjoy being free from his diaper and peeing all over the bath tub during his bath though! Well, that is all that I can think to write now. I will hopefully write again soon!

Oh...Ethan rolled from his back all the way to his tummy today at our friend's house. Their couch had a little dip which may have helped him a little, but he did most of it on his own. We didn't have a video camera or a camera with us, so we couldn't tape it. He did it twice though. He is a strong little boy!

    Ok, bye for now!
